چکیده
In a recent paper [1], Giannetti considered the thermal noise generated by a resistor R on a generic output port in any linear network. He reasoned that, because the contribution of the thermal noise of the resistor to the output noise of the circuit vanishes for both R! 0 and R ! 1, there should be a resistor value whose contribution to the output noise is maximal. In order to find that value, from Fig. 1 he obtained that the thermal noise contributed by R was [1, (3)]

The seemingly paradoxical noise behavior of some active circuits - Instrumentation and Measurement, IEEE Transactions on
HE OUTPUT NOISE of signal amplifiers usually inT creases when the signal bandwidth increases. In addition, the use 'of low-value resistors is recommended in low-noise voltage amplifier design in order to reduce the contribution of their thermal noise to the output noise [ l ] , [ 2 ] . In the course of designing a low-noise ECG acquisition system, we have found that circuit simulations revealed...
متن کاملLimits to the Fluctuation-Dissipation Theorem for Nonlinear Circuits
It is well known that the equilibrium thermal noise behavior at the terminals of any linear time-invariant (LTI) circuit can be predicted from knowledge of the driving-point impedance and temperature alone. This paper examines the conjecture that similar results hold if the capacitors and inductors are nonlinear. We refine the conjecture by analyzing the behavior of an bridge circuit with the n...
متن کاملModeling of Substrate Noise Impact on a Single-Ended Cascode LNA in a Lightly Doped Substrate (RESEARCH NOTE)
Substrate noise generated by digital circuits on mixed-signal ICs can disturb the sensitiveanalog/RF circuits, such as Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), sharing the same substrate. This paperinvestigates the adverse impact of the substrate noise on a high frequency cascode LNA laid out on alightly doped substrate. By studying the major noise coupling mechanisms, a new and efficientmodeling method is p...

A Minimal-Cost Inherent-Feedback Approach for Low-Power MRF-Based Logic Gates
The Markov random field (MRF) theory has been accepted as a highly effective framework for designing noise-tolerant nanometer digital VLSI circuits. In MRF-based design, proper feedback lines are used to control noise and keep the circuits in their valid states. However, this methodology has encountered two major problems that have limited the application of highly noise immune MRF-based circui...
